TED KELLER The NYC PAINTINGS & CHRISTINA THWAITES Sea/Folk

This group of New York City oil paintings is New Mexico (formerly Maine) artist Ted Keller's latest body of work. These paintings have been created from the hundreds of photos that he took while visiting the city. Some are from a single photo, but most are compilations of several photos. Like the streets, buildings, and people of New York City itself, these paintings are full of life as seen through the undeniable, fantastical eye of Ted Keller.

English born artist Christina Thwaites is a Maine transplant - via Edinburgh, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, Sulawesi, Australia and Palestine. She has made paintings addressing the injustices Aboriginals suffered, the refugee crisis, the effect pregnancy had on her, and the beauty and mystery of the coast. These paintings are inspired by salt and sea folk. Her decision to fully or partially resolve figures, coupled with her interpretation of color in her landscapes, is unusual and intriguing. The show also includes some of Christina’s newest interactive magnetic paintings. (We have a sizeable inventory of Christina’s work completed overseas - available to view on request).
